Sprint to Results
Patrick Fero, Maggie Everett and Caitlin Murray – Corning Information Technology Rotational Program
Abstract: Sprint is based on known Design Thinking best practices and agile development techniques adapted by Google Ventures to help their portfolio startup process to quickly and effectively solve their design challenges. This method allows you to take a product or service from design to testing in up to five days. The steps align well with the DESGN methodology.
Maggie Everett, Patrick Fero, and Caitlin Murray are members of the Corning Information Technology Rotational Program. Over the span of three years, they will take on new opportunities to develop leadership skills and learn about different areas within Corning’s IT department.
Maggie is in her first year of rotations and is currently the Improvements Lead on Corning’s Critical Response Team. She has completed her Green Belt training this past year and plans to work through PQA and Lean after becoming DMAIC certified in early 2018. In 2018, Maggie strives to break down silos between teams to create better collaboration!
Patrick is in his first year of rotations and is currently a Sr. Analyst on Corning’s Supply Chain Cloud Applications team. Through two previous internships with Corning, in both 2016 and 2017, he obtained the Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification. Since joining full time, he has completed his Green Belt training and was the first IT project Sprint leader. In 2018, Patrick plans to leverage his training to help with future IT projects as the team belt.
Caitlin is in her second year of rotations and currently works as an IT Operations Analyst at Corning’s Diesel manufacturing facility. She became yellow belt certified while interning with Corning in 2015 and completed DMAIC, PQA, and Lean green belt training within her first year of returning full time. In 2018, she strives to become certified in all three areas and then train to become black belt certified.
